Auditory-oriented approach – asynchronous teaching

For students who learn best through audio, explanation and conversation. They remember, understand and reflect through what they hear – for example, a voice guiding them through an idea.

Key idea: Sound creates presence and understanding

Auditory modalities don't just provide information—they also create connection and focus. This is especially important in asynchronous learning objects, where voices can compensate for the absence of the instructor's presence.

When designing sound-based elements, ask yourself:

  • Can a voice make this easier to understand?
  • Would a conversation be better than a text?
  • How can I convey both subject and tone? fag og tone?
  • What does presence sound like in a learning object?

NOTE: Audio should be selectable so that it does not become a barrier – combine audio with text or images for flexibility.
