They need to think about how they learn \u2013 and connect new knowledge to previous experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key idea: Learning occurs in the space of reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflective learning is not a passive activity \u2013 it is a way of processing, evaluating and connecting knowledge. The metacognitive approach is about getting students to put their own understanding and learning process into words.
